Baby's First Birthday Inspo

Baby's First Birthday Inspo

My first baby’s first birthday is (far too quickly) approaching. And there are so many cute ideas for that very special first party.

Safe to say I’m a little bit obsessed.

It’s true that “babies won’t remember their first birthday.” But they’ll grow up seeing photos and hearing loving stories. Memories for the parents and family are important too, we can’t forget that!

Let’s get right into it, shall we?

Beatrix Potter

There’s so much to love about the Beatrix Potter books! The imaginative animals, the cute stories, and the beautiful vintage illustrations. Create a lovely Peter Rabbit party in your own home with just a few of these adorable Etsy finds! Personalize your invites, decorate desserts with cute character cake toppers, and display a gorgeous garland made up of artwork and storybook pages. You can even buy the tiny Peter Rabbit’s jacket hanging in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden! I can’t think of a cuter way to display veggies at the refreshment table, can you?

Berry First Birthday

The sweetest party theme for the sweetest summertime girls! Treat your little berry-lover to a strawberry filled day.  Download these delicious looking watercolor strawberry invitations. Your little one-year-old will be so berry cute in this handmade strawberry headband. There’s a hair clip option too! Before the smash cake gets smashed, decorate it with this pretty cake topper. Create your own balloon display with this strawberry balloon arch kit. You can’t go wrong with a little pink. Or a lot. Serve strawberry lemonade, chocolate covered strawberries, and strawberry shortcake!

Other similar ideas include “One in a Melon”, “One Sweet Peach”, and “Our Cutie is Turning One!”

My First Rodeo

This might not be your first rodeo, but it is your baby’s! Celebrate your little cowboy or cowgirl with this fun theme. Your guests will love receiving these western style invitations. Set the tone with these gorgeous balloons. (Notice the touch of cow print?) Stick a pic of your smiley baby onto cupcakes. These toppers come with cowboy hats added on! I found this absolutely precious longhorn cow plushie that works as a photo prop and a birthday gift for baby. BBQ and root beer floats are on the menu at this party.

One Happy Camper

Is your family one with the outdoors? Lean into it! Set up your very own at-home camp site. I’m in love with these simple invitations. I found this cool play tent and immediately imagined setting up a pretend fire pit in front of it. Your baby will enjoy playing with their tent for years to come. I’m also obsessed with this cake topper that looks just like a national park sign. Personalize a hanging banner with your baby’s name. Send guests home with s'mores kits!

First Trip Around the Sun

Our babies are the sunshine in our lives. This happy theme is clean and bright, which I love. It would bring warmth to whatever season your baby’s birthday lands on! Send out these vibey invitations and print out this month-by-month milestone photo banner. And can we take a moment for these birthday crowns?? It’s the perfect handmade touch that everyone can appreciate. This lovely tassel garland would look stunning as a backdrop.

A different take on this idea is to incorporate planets, astronauts, and rocket ships! Traveling around the sun is nothing short of an adventure.

Time Flies

Time sure does fly when you’re having fun. And when you have a baby. What baby doesn’t love airplanes? These paper airplane invites are the sweetest. Baby will be more than ready for the skies wearing this adorable aviator hat! Give his highchair some flair with this on-theme highchair banner. And I loved the look of these floating cloud garlands.

Woodland One-derland

Try and convince me not to use this idea. You can’t. Bring the magic of the forest indoors with a woodland animal themed first birthday! Send your guests these “Wild One” invitations. They have the cutest detailed forest animals. These little tree silhouettes as cake toppers are perfection. And just because we’re in the woods doesn’t mean you can’t have a little glam with some slate and chrome balloons. A pair of flowery baby bunny ears makes for the absolute cutest finishing touch. Finding those is 100% the reason I want to make this party happen myself.
